Sephora Haul!

Hey y’all!

Today is such a bright and sunny day and everything is so happy. I haven’t posted in a while, I know, but I’ll get back to posting regularly soon. Classes have gotten crazy and time has gotten away from me these past few weeks, and since school is my main priority right now, blog posts might be posted at weird times. I’ll get back on track with posting every Saturday soon, I promise! Anyway, this past week I went to Sephora (stress shopping… anyone else do that?) with the intention of getting new foundation but accidentally bought WAY too many things. I decided to write this post telling y’all about the products and my thoughts on each of them!

ESTEE LAUDER Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

As you may know, I have a little obsession with mascara. Taking off mascara every night has really taken a toll on my eyelashes, due to the scrubbing and harsh cleansers. I’m so happy I found this eye makeup remover by Estee Lauder, which takes off mascara and eye makeup (even waterproof!!) so easily and quickly.

TOO FACED Born This Way Foundation

Y’all already know about my obsession with this foundation. It is so hydrating and hardly feels like you’re wearing foundation at all. I also occasionally mix this with my moisturizer (Clinique Moisture Surge gel-creme) to create more of a tinted moisturizer on days I don’t want or need a lot of coverage. This foundation is infused with coconut water to help replenish the skin’s moisture levels and contains Alpine rose to brighten skin’s appearance. Fun fact: I’ve never purchased the same foundation twice before discovering this foundation. It’s THAT good.

TARTE Wide Awake Eye Set

This set is packed with all of your eye care essentials! It comes with a travel-size Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara; Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment; and one set of the Pack Your Bags 911 Undereye Rescue Patches, all for only $12. It’s also all vegan! This mascara is so volumizing and lengthening, I only need to use one coat. It is also the perfect size to stick in your purse or bag for traveling, in case of road trip touch-ups. The eye cream is packed with a complex of antioxidant plant extracts, light-reflecting particles, and essential fatty acids to hydrate and brighten under eyes. Unlike most eye creams that I have tried, this one doesn’t feel greasy or heavy, therefore much more suitable for everyday use. Finally, these little eye treatment patches work wonders! One use, and my dark circles, which were seriously bad from a weekend of late-night studying were seriously reduced. Yall, these are magical.

SEPHORA COLLECTION LashCraft Big Volume Mascara

As some of you may know, I am very particular (and obsessive) when it comes to mascaras. I was planning to re-purchase another Sephora collection mascara that I LOVED, only to find that they didn’t carry it anymore. What was I supposed to do, find a DIFFERENT mascara? No. Way. Luckily, I picked up this one because it was super cute and also only $14 (yes I spent too much money at Sephora, but I’m still on a budget. don’t judge). This mascara also contains jojoba oil, which allows you to build lashes with multiple coats while not flaking, smudging, or clumping. This stuff is seriously good!

URBAN DECAY Vice Lipstick in shade Stark Naked

I have been searching for the perfect nude lipstick for SO LONG, and I have finally found it. This lipstick by Urban Decay is velvety matte but doesn’t feel like I’m wearing lipstick at all. It’s super moisturizing and, unlike most matte lipsticks, don’t dry out your lips or get cakey. It is also packed with so many good-for-your-skin ingredients, such as aloe vera, jojoba, avocado, and babassu oils which help nourish and soften lips. It is also formulated with Illipe butter, which is derived from Malaysian illipe trees and provides long-lasting moisture.  This lipstick is also infused with vitamins C and E, which help to deliver a hint of antioxidants.

Winter Skincare Favorites

Hey y’all! It’s that time of year when skin gets dry, lips get chapped, and foundation just won’t apply the way you’d like it to. In this post, I’m going to tell y’all about my favorite skincare products for the cold months and hopefully can save some of you from the dreaded flaky foundation. you’re welcome! Now let’s get started.

First up is an overnight moisture mask from Clinique that I’m going to link Here. This mask is a creamy, oil-free facial mask that helps hydrate skin overnight for a soft, dewy glow when you wake up in the morning. I use this about once or twice a week in the winter, and around once a month the rest of the year, but you can also use it every night if your skin REALLY needs help.

Next is a serum by Estee Lauder ( here ). I use it around my eyes, on my lips, or on my entire face ( gotta do what you gotta do, am I right? ). This repair serum maximizes the power of skin’s natural renewal and really combats dry skin. I use it in the mornings before my daily moisturizer.

Alright, so this is my favorite primer anyway, but it’s ESPECIALLY lovely this time of year. The Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer (yep, click here) is a LIFESAVER… or should I say foundation saver? Either way, this primer is  “infused with coconut water, a probiotic-based ingredient, and skin revivers which work together to boost skin’s radiance, promote elasticity, and help hydrate while locking down makeup for fresher, longer, and more flawless wear.”(thanks, @ Sephora’s product info section). Anyway, this primer is super moisturizing and my foundation stays looking flawless all day. No kidding, like “I did my makeup at 7 am and now its 10 pm and still looking FLAWLESS” kind of good.

SKINCARE

For cleansers, the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser (right here)  is fantastic at any time, but especially winter. This gel cleanser for all skin types gently washes off everyday impurities like dirt and makeup – EVEN MASCARA- without drying the skin. this stuff is good. Amino acid-rich soy proteins to help support natural elasticity and healthy skin, while rosewater is notable for its calming and balancing properties. The cleanser is further enriched with calming cucumber extract to soothe the skin and borage seed oil to nourish. In short: really good, doesn’t dry out your skin.

My favorite eye cream is the Yes To Grapefruit Dark Circle Correcting Eye Cream (here ). This eye cream is super hydrating and diminishes dark circles. It actually works! Also, it’s relatively inexpensive, at only $15, but check your local T.J.Maxx, because I got mine there for $3.

Last but not least is a Goji Lip Balm by Sephora Collectio (lol right here). This product come in a range of six different balms, each with a different ingredient to nurture lips all day long. The Goji Lip Balm, specifically “nurtures and protects”. Also, this lip balm only costs $6. Just saying.

I hope y’all enjoyed this post and, from now on, will be blessed with hydrated skin.

I’m writing this while wearing fuzzy pants with ice skating polar bears on them as I procrastinate studying for finals. Maybe I should take my own advice from my last blog post?
